Ideas for Students to Boost Brain Power

Ideas for Students to Boost Brain Power

Our brains play a huge part in what makes us ' us, ' and keeping your brain in tip-top condition will give you a head start to success, particularly during your studies. Building and maintaining a healthy brain starts with a nutritious basis, but the process involves so much more than just feeding the brain of your child with food. Modern science tells us the brain isn't static. It changes every day and you can be the one that guides the change. It's easier to increase your brainpower than you think. Don't make your brain a drag to function! Nitte students have a variety of tricks and tips that help them boost their brainpower. They try to use these tips to help them prepare better for an upcoming exam at Nitte University. Most of us rarely think now and then about participating in a little brain-training. Scientists have already been saying for a considerable period of time that we were stuck with the brain we were given. Fortunately for us that concept with the emergence of a new finding went right out the window. Enter neuroplasticity — the concept which has demonstrated to be one of the most astounding facts: our minds will change. It implies if you aren't very sharp in one region, that's totally fine! You have the ability through some kind of training to "transform" the area of the brain.

Just like this, one easy way of thinking about it is: the brain is a muscle. It requires regular exercise. The exciting thing is you don't have to be wealthy to enhance your brainpower, nor have you to go back to school or reinvest in technology. All you need is to dedicate quite a bit of time to train the brain consistently

Here are a few tips and tricks that will help boost your brain power and make you get the grades you wish for whilst studying in Nitte College.

  1. Follow your own rhythms whether you’re a morning person or night owl. Your brain is the most active at that point so try to do all your complex mental work when your brain is at its peak.
  2. Make sure you never skip breakfast as it's the most important meal of the day which helps fuel your brain and give it the nutrition it deserves
  3. Multi-task when possible. For example, if you are traveling, play some brain games, puzzles, read a book, write something, etc to help boost your brainpower.
  4. Exercise regularly. You could pick anything, be it Aerobics, Strength training, dancing, gyming, yoga or any sort of physical activity that keeps your mind active and increases your brain functioning.
  5. Meditate. Meditation is a great way to improve your concentration and increase your attention span and improve your decision-making process.
  6. Ensure to have a healthy sleep cycle where you get at least 6-8 of sleep hours every day so that your brain can function at full capacity. "A single night of sleep deprivation evoked a strategy shift during risky decision making such that healthy human volunteers moved from defending against losses to seeking increased gains."
  7. If you want a healthy brain, incorporating "smart" foods into your regular diet is essential. What you put in your body reaches your bloodstream, flows into your brain and impacts your perception and feelings. Blueberries, salmon, avocados, cheese, caffeine, dark chocolate, milk, green tea, and whole grains are super foods that help the mind work better.
  8. A study conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan found that taking a walk among trees and nature—as opposed to an urban environment—can improve your short-term memory by 20 percent. According to the study's researchers, "Nature, which is filled with intriguing stimuli, modestly grabs attention in a bottom-up fashion, allowing top-down directed-attention abilities a chance to replenish. Unlike natural environments, urban environments are filled with stimulation that captures attention dramatically and additionally requires directed attention (e.g., to avoid being hit by a car), making them less restorative." If you aren't able to take a walk among trees and fields, the researchers suggest looking at pictures of nature to enjoy some of the same benefits.
  9. A group of researchers at Michigan University concluded that wandering among trees and natural environments as contrasted to an urban setting can strengthen your short-term memory by 20 percent. According to the researchers of the analysis, "Nature, packed with fascinating stimuli, gains modest focus in a bottom-up manner, allowing top-down, direct-attention capabilities to be replenished.
  10. Catching insufficient sunlight is not doing your brain well. High vitamin D levels in your body enable you to function better, and can even delay your brain's aging process. Too much sunlight may be harmful to your skin, but your brain functions can weaken if you don't get plenty. You can of course still take vitamins with vitamin D if you find that you likely won't get out as much.
  11. This could come as a bit of a shock to everyone, but it is acknowledged that playing Tetris has several beneficial effects on your brain. Trying to play Tetris can improve gray matter in a short span of time, and may also help with spatially related activities. The most intriguing thing is that playing Tetris will keep the brain from solidifying some memories after a traumatic incident.
